Announcing the 7th Annual African Development Conference at Harvard
On March 4-5, 2016 African student groups from Harvard College, Harvard Graduate School of Design, Harvard Graduate School of Education, Harvard Kennedy School of Government, Harvard Law School and Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health will come together to host the 7th annual African Development Conference. The conference will be held at the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Law School over the course of the two days in Cambridge, MA. This year the African Development Conference (ADC) at Harvard focuses on development made on the continent for Africans by Africans. The conference invites conversations on how the continent’s potential can be realized and its growth sustained over the coming years through the work of Africans on the continent.
The conference will bring together policymakers, innovative business leaders, accomplished academics, leaders of civil society organizations and other distinguished individuals to foster a productive dialogue about Africa’s future.
Speakers from varied African countries will participate in panels touching on topics in the following areas: • Economic Development
- Health Systems Strengthening: Innovative Financing towards Universal Health Care
- The Urban Renaissance: Re-envisioning African Cities
- Human Rights, Labor, and Growth
- Youth Empowerment and Social Movements
- Educating the Next African Leader
The goal of the conference is not only to raise awareness about challenges facing African countries, but to also highlight the opportunities for engagement and promote those who are working to make real change in their country.
